How to prepare for your move to Norway

Set in the northern Nordic lands of Vikings, Norway is a small country with plenty of lakes and only 5 million citizens. The country is not a member of the European Union, but it is part of the European Economic Area (EEA), which means that its customs policies and rules are similar.

An undeniable fact is that life in Norway is expensive (even compared to the UK), so be sure to do the math prior to your move to the country. Other aspects that are worth researching in advance are the local taxation laws, driving rules, banking services, social life and habits. It may be overwhelming at first sight, but there is plenty of information online as well as special expat communities where you can find help and advice.

And while you’re busy getting ready for your new life, let us take care of your move to Norway – get your free quote, no-obligation now.

What Documents you'll need

No matter the moving service you book, a full load or a partial load, we will supply you with two types of documents - a service contract and an inventory list, both essential elements of a successful and hassle-free move to Norway.

The inventory list is a form listing all household goods that you want to move to Norway and must be sent back to us well in advance of your collection day. In addition to this, with Norway being outside the European Union, you are required to present additional documents such as Norwegian Customs Form RG-124 or RG-124A. Luckily, our team is experienced in removals to Norway and will advise you of all documents required for customs clearance.

What our clients have to say about us

I moved from London to Stockholm. Sarah Hill at European Moving was coordinating the move. Everything worked perfect. Pick up and delivery on time. I have moved several times during my career, and hope to move a few more times. European Moving will be my first choice.

Carl Dandanel

The contact with the agent was very smooth from the moment that I received the first quote and throughout the process. Questions were answered quickly, and I was offered a clear overview of my options and the consequences for the price. The driver was punctual and quick. We had everything in the truck withing roughly half an hour, and our things arrived the next day, exactly at the time that the driver told us. He was also patient enough to allow us to move some things in storage and other things into our home.
All of that for a very reasonable price. I definitely recommend this company.

Wouter Spekkink

My experience with this company was very positive, everything worked out perfectly. Thank you again, especially a big thank you to Helena! She is amazing and always there to help you and answer any questions.
